The B66-001 performance characteristics have been tailor made to suite Mediterranean weather conditions. Rolf Vrolijk gave the yacht a very powerful sail plan with increased sail area and this in combination with the lighter displacement and higher stability will result in improved performance especially in the light wind conditions often seen in the Mediterranean.

The Baltic 66-001 will be a high performance racing yacht as well as a comfortable cruising yacht representing the best of both Worlds. She will be launched spring 2005.

 

On 66-01 the technology is taken even further. Our custom made laminating press
will be in full use for this project. All structural bulkheads and other none-structural interior panels will be manufactured in this press producing panels with honeycomb sandwich and pre-preg Carbon face laminates with glued on thin veneer on visible surfaces. Extra reinforcement, capping laminate around openings etc can be incorporated already at the panel-making stage resulting in better laminates and less filler use. This way of producing interior panels represents a substantial weight saving factor even if compared with similar panels produced on a normal laminating table. As far as we know we are the only yacht builder using this method and it gives us a substantial edge over our competitors.
