Custom high performance racer cruiser with high aims to perform
Baltic 78 Laetitia is a sleek looking modern yacht with good cruising comfort, but light enough to have high aims when it comes to performance characteristics. Also the deck layout is optimized for easy family cruising, but effective enough for serious racing.
Hull and deck are laminated in carbon, epoxy infused laminates, which means a superior strength but without extra weight. A detailed specification and a comprehensive weight calculation were produced for the naval architecture and performance studies, giving Rolf Vrolijk and his team a good base to do extensive and accurate VPP studies on a number of design variations. All in all, the design stage resulted in a well thought out custom yacht based on detailed design and performance work.
No compromises have been done below deck and the open salon incorporates both the pentry and the nav station. But one of the most unique features on the Baltic 78 Laetitia is the abundance of natural light in the saloon. The owner wanted to have a traditional-style saloon with lots of teak, so to add extra brightness to the interior skylights fitted flush with the deck were installed.
This yacht has the aesthetics and comfort of a nice cruising yacht, but speed potential that can match most racers. Baltic 78 Laetitia coincides well with the well-known 'Baltic philosophy'.
LAETITIA was delivered summer 2009.
